The Schools’ Animal Ethics Committee aims to make the process as easy and as educational as possible.
The Committee meets during the school year to consider applications. Please ensure that your application is submitted at least 1 week before the Committee meets. Approval is required before any work commences.
Students and teachers can apply to the Committee for approval:
- Students – For individual student investigations, including those for Science Fairs, CREST Awards, Bright Sparks and other similar events approval is given for up to one year.
- Teachers – For science, biology, equine, animal care, aquaculture and agriculture teaching approval is given for three years.
The 2026 meeting dates are below. Applications are required to be submitted one week before that meeting date.
- Monday 23rd February (Submitted by 16th February)
- Monday 23rd March (Submitted by 16th March)
- Monday 4th May (Submitted by 27th April)
- Monday 15th June (Submitted by 8th June)
- Monday 27th July (Submitted by 20th July)
- Monday 30th November (Submitted by 23rd November)
